Methodist once again recognized by the University HealthSystem consortium!
We’re excited to share the news that Methodist Hospital has again been recognized as one of the nation’s best academic medical centers by the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC). This marks the third consecutive year Methodist has received the prestigious Quality Leadership Award in recognition for excellence in delivering high quality care. Methodist is one of only five academic medical centers to earn the award in 2009.
The Quality and Accountability Study was designed by UHC to identify best practices associated with high performance in quality and safety, in order to serve as models for academic medical centers across the country. In 2009, 93 academic medical centers were assessed and ranked across such aspects of care as safety, timeliness, effectiveness and patient centeredness.
To put this award in perspective, some of the 93 academic medical centers eligible for this award include: Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins Hospital, UCLA Medical Center and Duke University Hospital. However, the top performers were:
- Methodist Hospital - A Clarian Health Partner, Indianapolis
- Rush University Medical Center, Chicago
- University Hospitals Case Medical Center, Cleveland
- University Medical Center, Tucson
- The University of Kansas Hospital Authority, Kansas City
This award points to Clarian’s consistent focus on patient-centered care, and the hard work each of you do for our patients.
We are honored, and pleased that UHC has recognized Methodist Hospital with the Quality Leadership Award for the third consecutive year.
